MONICA was born and grew up in Argentina. She has always been in contact with the water. She started to practice Freediving in Honduras, central America.

In 1999, still looking for adventure and adrenaline, she decided to move to Thailand. When she arrived on Koh Tao, she fell in love with the island. For a few years, teaching scuba diving and doing underwater videos was her main activity.

Feeling more and more sensations while freediving during her free days, she left her job to follow the Master Training and Instructor Seminar with F.R.E.E, Freediving Regulations & Education Entity.

Today she mainly dedicates her time to teach people how to freedive safely. She also does Freediving videos and trains for future competitions.

EUSEBIO comes from the big city of Bilbao in northern Spain. He moved to Koh Tao to become Divemaster and Scuba Instructor but he left that idea as soon as he discovered and enjoyed the art of breath holding.

He was soon addicted to the tranquility of the big blue, a world without rush and schedules.

For that reason, he participated to the same Master Training as Monica. Together they decided to share their passion with others through APNEA TOTAL, the first Freediving school in South East Asia.

Both Monica and Eusebio not only have a real addiction to freediving but they love teaching it. If you think you will never manage to go under water without a bottle on your back, just come and see them!!!

Ai Futaki is Japanese underwater videographer, photographer, freediving and scuba diving instructor, and Cave Diver. She Shoots video and photo while freediving... not using scuba gear, only holding her breath.

She is being working at Apnea Total making amazing videos and teaching freediving in Japanese, English and Spanish. She also films many of the freediving competitions.

She is based on somewhere tropical (always good surprise where she is) 'caz most of the time she is traveling in search of fabulous images of freedivers interacting with the underwater world. If you have any great idea, interesting info for underwater encounter, Let her know, and she's gonna be there in few days!

Augusto Vegas was born in Peru. Since he can remember he has been enjoying the ocean surfing, spearfishing, freediving and in any other possible way which allowed to be in tune with it.
 
Having a strong passion for the interaction with nature Augusto has been leading adventure tours for the past years in South America and Asia. It was during a trip in Thailand that he found out about APNEA TOTAL, realizing that there was someone that could teach him how to go deeper and stay under water for longer.

This interest put him in Koh Tao and made him return again and again, until he saw himself becoming a Freediving Instructor. Augusto made his Apnea Total Instructor Course in October '08. He is at the moment teaching freediving in Peru.

Jon Ruiz De Argandona Zubizarreta, came to Koh Tao from the Basque Country few years ago to become a Padi Dive Master. Searching for challenges he started to train at Apnea Total.

In October ’08 he made his AT Instructor course. Jon worked for more than 2 years at Apnea Total and certified more than 200 students. When ever his goes on holidays he likes spearfishing amount all the activities. Currently he is in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, teaching freeediving.

Mike Board is from the United Kingdom and has been diving for over 10 years. He is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, a TDI Technical Diving Instructor (55m) and Advanced Trimix diver (100m).

Whilst visiting Koh Tao to dive Mike discovered the world of freediving through Apnea Total, enjoying it so much that he decided to become an Apnea Instructor. He recently competed in the Andaman Freediving Challenge 2009, an AIDA competition held in Thailand, placing 2nd overall and became Freediving Instuctor in March '09.

Marc Beaudet comes from the city of Montreal in Canada. Coming from a cold country, he truly enjoys the warm waters of Koh Tao! Marc has 14 years and more than 2500 hours of experience as a tennis instructor and coach, at the National level. He also competed in fencing, badminton, football, Lacrosse and tennis obviously. He enjoys extreme sports, being happy on a mountain summit or at the bottom of the ocean!

 Like many French spoken people, the movie ‘The Big Blue” had a huge influence on his decision to practice freediving today, thanks to Luc Besson and Jacques Mayol. Two years ago, Marc traded his suit for a bathing suit. He is also a scuba diver since 1997 and really enjoys to hold his breath since he was a kid. He’s a pure product of APNEA TOTAL having done his beginner, advanced, master and instructor certifications with us.

Steffen Foldager is from Denmark but have lived in Switzerland since 2001. He tried the Apnea Total freediver course in January 2009 and was hooked on the sport right there and then. After half a year on Koh Tao he was certified as freediving instructor in July 2009.
Steffen also discovered that being able to hold your breath can be a big help when putting out fires in guesthouses and significantly increases how long the really long notes on a saxophone can be held.

Rodrigo Lorenzale was born in Spain and his passion for the sea started in the Mediterranean waters when he was young. Soon he was competing at regional level on olympics sailing boats (470) and enjoying time on larger ocean going yachts.
Yet another passion came knocking on his door and he is now been diving for over 10 years. He qualified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, and has worked worldwide including liveaboards.
He came to Apnea Total in order to get greater understanding and study Freediving, achieving his instructor status in October 2009. Rodrigo and his wife Andrea are working on a unique project combining Freediving, Scuba diving and social work!  Julia Mouce, Patita for her many friends, is from Argentina. Patita has lived and worked for the ocean for many years. Initially working as a professional Life Guard in Argentina she enrolled in the Argentinian Military School of Professional Commercial Divers.
Following a move to Spain, she joined the rowing team Esvano and became a PADI Scuba Instructor.
She began freediving with the underwater hockey team of Blanes in Gerona, Spain, and further developed her skills with Apnea Total, becoming a Freediving Instructor in January 2010. Patita has 2  National records in Constant weight and constant weight no fins. Currently she is teaching in her freediving school in Bali.
